Responsibilities

Responsible for working collaboratively with other team members to ensure the safe, timely, and accurate delivery of patient care. The Coordinator acts as the liaison between the clinic and the third-party contracted service that provides Durable Medical Equipment. The Coordinator provides direct patient care in the clinic to those requiring fracture care, casting/bracing, and durable medical equipment fittings. The Coordinator strives to create efficient systems and workflows within the clinic while enhancing the quality of patient care provided.

 

Essential Duties:


• Provides patient care for casting, bracing, and medical equipment fittings.
• Responsible for the ordering, receiving, and stocking of products, materials, equipment, and supplies for both the clinic and office settings.
• Oversees the ordering, securing, and completion of required logs for pharmaceuticals in the clinic.
• Maintains an adequate stock of clean, sterilized instruments and properly handles/packages biohazard instruments being processed for sterilization.
• Completes daily checks of emergency management equipment in the clinic.
• Participates in ongoing quality improvement, infection prevention, and fiscal stewardship as it applies to the areas of expertise.
• Maintains all patient confidentiality and HIPAA rules and regulations.
• Other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, Health Administration, or related field of study specific to Orthopedics.
• Active healthcare professional license in the State of Maine (EMS, MA, RN) preferred.
• Supplemental certification in Orthopedic Technology.
• Active BLS Certification.
• 5+ years’ experience providing direct patient care in a hospital/clinical setting.
