Central Maine Heart and Vascular seeks Radiology Technologists (Rad Tech, IR Tech) for our specialty labs.

This is a full-time, 36 hours per week, benefit eligible position.
This position encompasses working with experienced team members, Interventional Cardiologists, Electrophysiologists, and Vascular Surgeons in a hospital setting. Great opportunities of advanced learning, cross-training, and guaranteed hours offered.
The Radiological Technologist performs a variety of imaging procedures and is responsible for patient safety protocols. Functions as the first line interface with customers in the successful accomplishment of their imaging needs. Provides direct and indirect supervision of Radiologic Technology students. Participates in CQI activities. Participates in on call, weekend and holiday schedules.

• Responsible for the care and safety of patients undergoing treatment and use of equipment to minimize
hazards of electric shock, burns and extraneous radiation to patients.
• Responsible for safe handling of radiographic equipment.
• Instructs and prepares patients for roentgenographic and/or fluoroscopic examinations.
• Selects appropriate product to use for procedure.
• Positions patient on procedure table and shields patients accordingly.
• Performs all aspects of patient care in an environment that optimizes patient safety and reduces the
likelihood of medical/health care errors.
• Operates fixed fluoroscopy equipment during cardiovascular procedures which includes Cardiac Cath,
Electrophysiology, and Endovascular.
• Scrubs with physician for all cardiovascular imaging procedures.
• Practices medical and surgical aseptic techniques.
• Assists in maintaining records and reports.
• Enters data via a computer terminal.
• Assists in training of students.
• Takes cardiovascular call according to a weekly schedule. Works weekends and/or holidays.
• Interacts professionally with patient, family and staff.
• Completes all work competently and efficiently by the end of the shift.
• Demonstrates knowledge of local fire and safety regulations.
• Knowledgeable of hospital policies and the functions of the other departments.
• Cooperates with the department’s performance improvement initiatives and compiles and maintains
quality assurance information as requested.
• Provides care appropriate to condition and age of the patient, including geriatric and the general
population.
• Customer Service: Interacts with all individuals in a consistent manner, providing attention, support,
and assistance to foster an environment of exceptional personal service.
Education and Experience:
• Associates degree from an AMA-approved school of Radiologic Technology
• BS or MS accepted
• One year of radiology and/or cardiovascular experience preferred.
• ARRT certification.
• Licensed by the state of Maine to practice and administer radiation.
• Current American Heart Association Healthcare Provider BLS certification required. Renewal due
within one month of expiration.
• Current American Heart Association ACLS certification and/or acquired within one year of hire.
• Knowledge and understanding of general anatomy, physiology and medical terminology.
