The RN Clinical Assistant is responsible and accountable for delivering patient care in the physician's office setting, utilizing the Nursing Process, taking into account the biophysical, psychosocial, environmental, and self-care educational needs of the patient, family, and/or significant other(s). Demonstrates outstanding customer service skills on behalf of Central Maine Medical Group (CMMG). The RN, Clinical Assistant practices in accordance with CMMG’s Clinical Policies and Procedures, and operates within the Maine Nurse Practice Act. The RN, Clinical Assistant acts as the patient’s advocate, manages supplies,equipment, and sophisticated instrumentation, promotes teamwork with staff, physicians, and personnel in other departments, and supports the values of CMMG. Provides direct and indirect patient care in the practice. Provides care that reflects initiative, flexibility and responsibility indicative of professional expectation with a minimum of supervision. Determines priorities of care based on physical and psychosocial needs, as well as factors influencing patient flow through the system. Communicates with the providers about changes in the patient's status, symptomatology, and results of diagnostic studies. Can respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition or response to treatment.
Wound Care Nurse
• Accountable for providing comprehensive holistic care using the nursing process in the coordination and management of patients with acute and chronic wounds, fistulas, pressure ulcers, ostomies, continence issues, and other state of impaired skin integrity.
• Utilization of the nursing process includes assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care.
• The Nurse must be able to communicate verbally and through writing in a way that ultimately results in enhanced patient outcomes.
• The Nurse provides recommendations of treatment to providers and the health care team the
Physicians/Practitioners related to wound, skin and ostomy management.
• The position includes direct patient care, patient and staff education, quality improvement activities, research, and administrative duties with a commitment to evidence-based care.
• Responsible for accurate and complete work based on organization standards, policies and procedures, HIPAA, and compliance with any regulatory agencies.
